Two weeks ago Operation Concern went abroad once again, this time with the mission to export nice thoughts from New York to Stockholm in a cozy cooperative way. Over eighty random nice persons from the streets of New York went along with the task of writing something uplifting to a person in Sweden who could use a set of nice words in a notebook.
The theme of the project was that everybody is a part of Operation Concern, it would be truly pointless if no one tryly cared. But from the streets of New York the little notebook reached Ines, a truly amazing girl who we met at the central station in Stockholm. Her life has been and is far rougher than most of us could even imagine. She has taken heroin since the age of 16 and has worked the streets for a couple of years and she is only 23. But even though her life has been tough she amazed us with her positive attitude, her smile and the lack of self pity. She wants people to feel good, she wants people to care for each other and she is currently working on a notebook on her own.
